This year, the HeARTful Living Seniors Learning Series successfully launched its in-person and online segment, hosting over 1.5K+ senior interactions across two prominent community hubs in Mississauga: the Mississauga Valley Community Centre and the Churchill Meadows Older Adult Community Centre & Library.
The series featured four key topics aimed at enhancing the well-being and knowledge of seniors: Cybersecurity, Nutrition, Virtual Storytelling, and Art. Each session was designed to provide an hour of expert-led content, followed by time for social interaction and light refreshments, fostering both learning and community connection.
Feedback from Our Attendees:
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with 88.4% of participants rating themselves as being "very satisfied" or "very happy." The experts leading the sessions were particularly well received, with 95.3% of attendees expressing high satisfaction with the quality of the presentations.
This also marks our first in-person engagement with seniors in Mississauga, a community that is home to 119,400 residents aged 65 and over (as per 2021 Statistics Canada data). The success of this program lays the foundation for future efforts to expand and deepen our offerings. Moving forward, we plan to enhance our educational programming and further engage seniors with more specialized content on the topics explored this year.
Our commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences is supported by a network of dedicated experts and educators, passionate about enriching the lives of our community members. We are eternally grateful to our partner organization, Shubh Helping Hands and our sponsors, The Ontario Trillium Foundation for trusting our vision.
We are excited about the potential for growth and look forward to continuing to serve Mississauga’s senior population with meaningful, impactful learning opportunities.
